Our commitment to sustainability is evident in our creation of modern pieces using recycled, reclaimed, and salvaged materials. Each piece is a testament to our mission: delivering functional, authentic, and artistic furniture while actively eliminating waste that negatively impacts the environment.
Morto A Galla recently won a Silver Award at the 2023 NY Product Design Competition for their UNEDO Modular Bookshelf.
The award’s program is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating outstanding product design across various industries, bringing together designers, innovators, and industry leaders from around the world.
What Does Morto A Galla Mean?
Morto A Galla is an Italian word for “Floating Upside in Water.” Remember when you were young and your parents would tell you to trust them, to release your fears and let go when you were learning how to float? Well, when you are buoyant and defying gravity without a care in the world, you start to look and question life with different eyes.
Floating on water creates a sentiment of freedom, relaxation, weightlessness and when you let go…those creative juices start flowing and Ideas are born. It is an invigorating feeling which is also applied to our company mission. We embody the same passion for designing and building sustainable organic timeless pieces.
Our Mission
Morto A Galla wanted to create a connection directly with the clients and build intimate long lasting relationships, emphasizing a direct-to-consumer brand that is designed and assembled in the USA.
We produce to order, hold little inventory, and produce projects in small batches. Our logistics eliminate the waste and emissions of traditional large furniture companies operating to produce, store, and ship large quantities to wholesalers. The facility also operates with solar energy and green practices.
Consumers want the companies they buy from to be more environmentally conscious and sustainable. By prioritizing long-lasting styles, quality of materials and ease of transport, designers and manufacturers can create stylish, practical furniture while also reducing waste and environmental impact.
