Our Founder and Lead Designer, Luigi Vitalini, owns an Architecture firm www.vcmiami.com in Coral Gables, Florida. They offer a full range of professional design services including architecture, interior design, preservation, planning, urban design, construction and other related services.
Luigi has led a fruitful and rewarding career of over 30 years as a LEED Architect (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). This certification by the U.S. Building Council is globally recognized as a symbol of sustainability achievement, and it is backed by an entire industry of committed organizations and individuals paving the way for market transformation.
LEED is the world’s most widely used holistic green building rating system. Its certification provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings, which offer environmental, social and governance benefits.
“As an Architect and Builder, we see lots of waste in construction. This is one of the reasons which led us to Re-Think how we dispose it and want to give the materials an opportunity to extend their lifeline. We firmly believe in salvaging good standing materials, added Vitalini.”
Luigi started designing and making furniture as a fun project to start getting more use out of recycled ecological sustainable materials from projects to incorporate them into original one a kind art pieces. This grew into a passion which has now started the creation of Morto A Galla along with our acclaimed, patented and Award Winning DIY modular assembly furniture line named UNEDO.
As an Artist and Designer, Luigi started this venture to promote his devoted passion towards the awareness of social and environmental responsibility through education, elevation and regeneration of biodegradable materials. He mentioned that by using locally sourced contacts, it keeps our small scale business operation as a work-to-order studio. This means less waste and fewer overheads associated with big factories polluting and manufacturers who run large scales of items in their inventory that may go unsold.
Luigi Vitalini was born in Rome, Italy, but grew up in Miami. A second-generation architect, he graduated from the University of Miami School of Architecture in 1987. Luigi has completed architectural projects of various typologies. He has organized and participated in numerous urban design charrettes, received several design awards and accolades.
He has a passion for the arts and in his spare time runs a “Pop Up Gallery” named An Eye Diary in South Miami, Florida, to promote his creations and support local artists in showcasing their talent.
